Vermont Foodbank Ensures Food Access for Most Vulnerable

The Vermont Foodbank, a Feeding America member, works with over 215 network and agency partners throughout the state to provide nutritious food to over 153,000 Vermonters each year. Feeding America estimates that the COVID-19 crisis could increase food insecurity nationwide by 46 percent translating into about 34,000 more Vermonters relying on some form of food assistance in the coming months. 

The Vermont Foodbank's response has been swift and immediate, including the leasing of two additional trucks to increase transportation capacity and expanding food purchases from a number of sources such as Vermont farms.
