Feeding Chittenden Makes 7,000 Meals Per Week
Feeding Chittenden is the largest direct service emergency food provider in Vermont, serving over 12,000 clients every year. The organization has been working hard to meet an increased demand due to the spread of COVID-19 in the state, including cooking thousands of meals per week in its kitchen to deliver to vulnerable populations living in shelters or group homes. With the help of volunteers, Feeding Chittenden staff estimate they are producing around 7,000 meals each week, in addition to providing groceries to clients. Food donors have included the Vermont Foodbank, area supermarkets including City Market, and area restaurants including New Moon Cafe and The Skinny Pancake.
