Director of Leadership Giving

We are looking for a Director of Leadership Giving! This role is responsible for expanding fundraising efforts, particularly the Philanthropic Leadership Fund and endowment. The role involves building relationships with individuals, foundations, corporations, and businesses to support VCF’s community impact initiatives. Key duties include designing a long-term fundraising strategy, overseeing donor engagement, and collaborating across teams to align fundraising efforts with the organization’s goals.

Donor Impact Specialist

We are looking for a Donor Impact Specialist to support our Philanthropy team in maintaining and growing relationships with fundholders. This full-time position involves providing exceptional customer service, managing administrative tasks, supporting donor engagement and stewardship, coordinating communication efforts, and working with donor databases. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, communication, and technology skills.

Philanthropy Specialist

The Community Foundation is looking for a Philanthropy Specialist with strong administrative and operational skills to provide support to all areas of the Foundation. This position will be responsible for providing general administrative, event assistance, and development-related support to help us advance our mission and have a greater impact across the state. This is a great role for someone who is detail-oriented and likes working in a support role with a wide variety of responsibilities and independence. This position will work with both the Philanthropy team and the Vermont Women’s Fund staff.

What does the day in the life of a VCF staffer look like?

VCF is a dynamic work environment. We are a team of great problem solvers. Here’s a glimpse into what a day might look like for staff in our different roles:

The Grants & Community Impact team may start their day by reviewing ongoing projects and strategic initiatives, visiting local nonprofits to learn about community needs and discuss partnership opportunities, or processing new grant applications. This team is key to implementing strategies that address pressing community issues, from affordable housing to environmental sustainability.

The Philanthropy team focuses on building relationships with donors and fundholders. Their day might include meetings with fundholders and potential fundholders to discuss philanthropic goals, organizing donor events, and preparing reports on the impact of donor contributions. They play a key role in inspiring giving and connecting donors with causes they care about.

The Finance team manages the Foundation’s financial health. Their daily tasks include general accounting, fund accounting, monitoring investment portfolios, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

The Marketing & Communications team is filled with creativity and building awareness of our fundholders’ impact across the state—through campaigns, newsletters, this very website, and more!

The Operations team manages human resources, office logistics, and all technology platforms. Their day might include organizing fielding data requests, organizing and hosting team meetings, or troubleshooting any operational issues that arise.
