Grants Specialist

The Grants Specialist at the Vermont Community Foundation processes donor advised, nonprofit, and designated grants, and also ensures compliance, manages grant records, and supports internal teams. This role works closely with the Grantmaking team to ensure consistency in grant processing, coding, and system integrity. Experience in administration, nonprofits, and grant software is valued. Hybrid work required in Middlebury and Burlington.

Director of Finance

Do you have a knack for numbers and a passion for supporting VT communities? What does the day in the life of a VCF staffer look like?

VCF is a dynamic work environment. We are a team of great problem solvers. Here’s a glimpse into what a day might look like for staff in our different roles:

The Grants & Community Impact team may start their day by reviewing ongoing projects and strategic initiatives, visiting local nonprofits to learn about community needs and discuss partnership opportunities, or processing new grant applications. This team is key to implementing strategies that address pressing community issues, from affordable housing to environmental sustainability.

The Philanthropy team focuses on building relationships with donors and fundholders. Their day might include meetings with fundholders and potential fundholders to discuss philanthropic goals, organizing donor events, and preparing reports on the impact of donor contributions. They play a key role in inspiring giving and connecting donors with causes they care about.

The Finance team manages the Foundation’s financial health. Their daily tasks include general accounting, fund accounting, monitoring investment portfolios, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

The Marketing & Communications team is filled with creativity and building awareness of our fundholders’ impact across the state—through campaigns, newsletters, this very website, and more!

The Operations team manages human resources, office logistics, and all technology platforms. Their day might include organizing fielding data requests, organizing and hosting team meetings, or troubleshooting any operational issues that arise.
