The Vermont Community Foundation is proud to partner with National Life Group in support of the Vermont Foodbank at Do Good Fest® 2025, an event that celebrates community, compassion, and collective impact. The Holly and Bob Miller Charitable Fund, a donor advised fund at the Vermont Community Foundation, will match every dollar raised for the Vermont Foodbank during the event—doubling donations up to $100,000.

“National Life’s commitment to building stronger communities is what makes Do Good Fest such a powerful platform for impact,” said Dan Smith, president and CEO of the Vermont Community Foundation. “This generous match by the Holly and Bob Miller Charitable Fund is a meaningful reflection of what’s possible when mission-driven partners come together in their community.”

Since 2014, Do Good Fest has brought people together on the back lawn of National Life Group’s Montpelier campus, raising over $2 million to support local causes through the company’s “Do good, Be good and Make good” values. This year’s event continues that tradition, with all proceeds benefiting the Vermont Foodbank.

“At National Life, we believe in the power of community to drive meaningful change,” said Mehran Assadi, Chairman, CEO, and President of National Life Group. “Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Holly and Bob Miller Charitable Fund, every dollar raised at this year’s Do Good Fest will have twice the impact in the fight to end childhood hunger in Vermont. Together, we are turning music into meals and compassion into action.”

“This support comes at a critical time for Vermont families,” said John Sayles, CEO of Vermont Foodbank. “We are grateful for the community’s commitment to ensuring every child has access to nourishing food.”

Do Good Fest 2025 will take place Saturday, July 12, and will feature live music from national and local acts including The Fray, Plain White T’s, Sammy Rae & The Friends, Beats for Good Winner Sixth Avenue Groove, and The Kwame Vibe. Guests will enjoy food trucks, a beer garden, a VIP lounge, a Nonprofit Village highlighting local causes, and fireworks to cap off the night.

Why It Matters

Food insecurity impacts too many Vermont families, with far-reaching effects on health, education, and opportunity. This partnership is a testament to what’s possible when philanthropy, business, and community action come together—turning music into meals and generosity into lasting impact.
